Good but needs refinement

I got the original in the mail and it had some minor defects that caused it to be misaligned between the two halves of the shell. Another issue is the retaining cross for the flip key immediately wore away causing it to not engage the spring. It also would not click into place the few times it did work. They sent a second as a warranty and the customer service was top notch. The new one was in much better shape but the key was still binding as it opened and closed. Using some wd40 I was able to fix that issue. Overall it’s a good product but definitely needs a slight redesign and I think it would be perfect

Slick fob

Overall, pretty easy and straightforward upgrade. The video on YouTube is helpful to help troubleshooting and I’m very happy with the quality and fit/finish of the product like the other meso customs products. I’d highly recommend the switch

Looks great , but ...

Got this fob and was very happy with the shipping , packaging and quality of the product. I purchased a while ago and just had the time to assemble it. After getting the key cut and the chip installed , the rest of the assembly was pretty easy. However , Just about 2 weeks of using it , the one piece (TRD) Button has fallen off, the buttons randomly set my car alarm off and the flip part of the fob has stopped staying closed. The top piece of the fob by the button to open the key has a slight crack and now the key doesn't stay closed. It seems to crack a little more Everytime I turn the car on. Really thought the quality was more durable than what it is. For as much as it was to assemble , I would have hoped it would have lasted longer than it did

Terrible and a waste of money

I purchased this back in April 2023 and it worked just fine until a few weeks ago. I noticed that a screw had fallen out and I emailed Meso for the screw size. Customer service responded back the next day and I thought that was it. I ordered some screws and then went to insert it in with a little loctite. The screw did not catch so I opened up the FOB and that's when I noticed all of the posts were broken, then the bottom of the FOB was cracked. I responded back to the customer service email letting them know that I was disappointed and expected it to last longer since I completely destroyed a factory FOB. I still haven't heard back and even though I'm not expecting any replacement, I would at least expect an response of some sort. I will never order another MESO product again.

Awful Product

This product is a complete waste. I had originally bought one over summer thinking it was going to be great. I had an issue with the original one where the transponder would not entirely fit and I had to do some trimming and the flip portion of the key was not working and broke. I had gotten it to work for a while but the product came loose. If you tighten it. The outer molds squeeze the transponder and set the alarm off. In turn I had to loosen it so it would eliminate the problem. Eventually the poor quality got the best of the key and it broke. I had gotten a replacement and it was fine for a month. Then one of the bottom allen screws had fallen out and the transponder started going off for longer periods of time due to the molds pressing it together. The key did not fit entirely well together and I still had to trim some of the inside for clearance. Now the flip mechanism wants to work half of the time and I am just disappointed in this product entirely. Complete waste of a good 4runner key, $150 for the Mesos customs fob and key cut requirement after purchase. I do not want another one and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
